Wrapping Up Your Trip: Getting to Your Departure Point, However You're Leaving

However your visit to Bar started, it ends the same way for everyone: getting to wherever you're leaving from. We've written about every leg of that separately over the course of this blog, airports, ferries, trains, buses, so this last post is simply the roundup. Wherever you're headed next, here's where to look.

Flying out

If you're departing by air, whether from Podgorica or Tivat, the logistics, timing, and pickup zone rules are all covered in our airport transfers guide. Leaving by sea, rail, or road

Bar is also a departure point in its own right, with a ferry connection, a rail line, and a bus terminal all serving the town. If there's room in your schedule before you leave, a few of the things we've covered in this closing cluster make a nice last stretch of a trip. A quiet sunset the evening before you fly out, a last visit to a local market to pick up something to take home, or an early birdwatching trip to Lake Skadar if your flight isn't until the afternoon, all of these fit reasonably well around a departure day without cutting it close.

A few things worth double-checking before departure day

Whichever route you're taking out, a couple of small checks the night before save a lot of stress the morning of. Confirm your actual departure time hasn't shifted, ferries, trains, and flights all get rescheduled occasionally. Know which terminal or gate you're headed to if there's more than one option nearby. And if you're paying your driver directly, both cash and card work, so that's one less thing to plan around.
