Bar to Nikšić Day Trip by Taxi

It's a genuinely old operation with a long local history, and the brewery itself is part of the town's identity in a way that's hard to miss once you're there.

Above the town, the remains of Bedem Fortress sit on higher ground, built by the Ottomans on the site of an even older Roman-era fortification known as Onogošt, the name Nikšić itself carried for centuries before it was renamed. It's a quieter historical site than Ostrog or Kotor's walls, worth a stop for the view over the town and the sense of how long people have been fortifying this particular spot.

Because Nikšić sits close to the road up to Ostrog Monastery, a lot of visitors combine the two into one longer day rather than treating Nikšić as a standalone trip, and it's a natural pairing given how the routes overlap.
