Taxi from Sutomore to Tivat Airport

If you're staying in Sutomore and flying out of Tivat Airport (TIV), the trip is essentially the Bar-to-Tivat coastal run with a slightly shorter starting leg, since Sutomore sits a little further up the coast, closer to Budva, than Bar itself.

Distance and time

From Sutomore, it's roughly 55 to 60 kilometers to Tivat Airport, and the drive generally takes a bit over an hour, sometimes closer to an hour and a quarter with traffic through Budva in peak season. The route runs north along the coastal road, through Budva, and around the Bay of Kotor, with the Vrmac Tunnel cutting under the ridge that separates Tivat Bay from Kotor Bay rather than forcing a slower climb over the top.

Once you're on the road, the trip follows the same stretch of coast as the Bar-Tivat run, past Budva's old town and around into Kotor Bay, with the Vrmac Tunnel cutting under the ridge into Tivat Bay rather than the older road that climbs over it. It's the same dramatic scenery, just with a slightly shorter run-up from Sutomore.

What it costs

This is an out-of-town fare: 1 euro boarding, a 5 euro minimum, and 1.10 euros per kilometer during the day. Since Sutomore is a touch closer to Tivat than Bar is, the total fare will typically run marginally lower than the equivalent Bar pickup, though the difference isn't dramatic given how much of the route is the same either way.

Roughly what to budget. For a trip of around 57 kilometers, the distance charge comes out to roughly 63 euros, plus the 1 euro boarding fee, so a reasonable planning figure is somewhere around €62 to €68. Budva traffic in peak season can add to the drive time without necessarily changing that total much, since the fare tracks distance rather than time on the open road.

Booking and timing

Because this route runs through Budva, which gets genuinely busy with tourist traffic in July and August, it's worth booking with a bit more lead time than you would for a short local trip, particularly for a flight with no flexibility.
