Taxi from Virpazar to Podgorica Airport

Virpazar is a bit of an outlier on this list, and worth calling out on its own. It's the one Bar-municipality pickup point that isn't actually on the coast. Instead, it sits on the shore of Lake Skadar, the largest lake in Southern Europe, already on the inland side of the mountains that separate the coast from the Zeta plain. That geography changes the trip to Podgorica Airport in a genuinely useful way.

Why this route is different

Every other pickup point in this guide, Bar, Sutomore, Čanj, Dobra Voda, has to cross the mountain barrier via the Sozina Tunnel to reach Podgorica. Virpazar sits right at the inland end of that tunnel corridor, close to Lake Skadar, which means a trip from here to the airport skips most of the coastal driving entirely and heads more or less straight across the Zeta plain.

Distance and time

From Virpazar, it's roughly 30 to 35 kilometers to Podgorica Airport (TGD) near Golubovci, and the drive typically takes around 30 to 35 minutes, making it one of the shortest airport transfers in this entire guide, shorter even than the trip from Bar itself.

The drive runs along the edge of Lake Skadar for a stretch, past reed beds, fishing villages, and wetland scenery that's a world away from the coast, before joining the road into Golubovci.

Virpazar itself is a small lakeside town, historically a market town and still the main jumping-off point for boat trips onto Lake Skadar. It has a very different feel from the coastal towns in this municipality, quieter, greener, and built around the lake rather than the sea, which makes it worth a stop in its own right if your schedule allows for one on the way to or from a flight.

What it costs

Standard out-of-town pricing applies: a 1 euro boarding charge, a 5 euro minimum, and 1.10 euros per kilometer for a daytime ride. Given how short this particular trip is, the 5 euro minimum will often be the deciding factor in your fare rather than the per-kilometer rate, since the distance alone barely clears it.

Roughly what to budget. For a trip of around 32 kilometers, the distance charge comes out to roughly 35 euros, plus the 1 euro boarding fee, putting a reasonable planning figure at somewhere around €34 to €38, making this one of the more affordable airport transfers anywhere in the cluster.
